Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 2026-01-01

This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on the Crooksec platform, and how you can manage your preferences.

01 What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you don't have to re-enter them whenever you return. Cookies can also help us understand how you use our site so we can improve it.

02 Cookies We Use

Cookie Name Type Duration Purpose
crk_session Essential Session Maintains your authenticated session for the client portal.
crk_csrf Essential Session Protects against Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks.
crk_prefs Essential 1 year Stores UI preferences such as theme and layout settings.

03 Third-Party Cookies

We may use privacy-respecting third-party analytics services (such as Plausible Analytics) that set minimal, anonymised cookies. We do not use Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising-related tracking cookies. Any third-party tools used are selected specifically for their minimal data footprint and GDPR compliance.

04 Managing Your Preferences

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

  • Browser Settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies via their settings menu. Note that blocking essential cookies will impair site functionality.
  • Consent Banner: When you first visit our site, you can accept or decline optional cookie categories via our consent modal.
  • Contact Us: Email privacy@crooksec.io to request deletion of any stored cookie data associated with your account.

05 Policy Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology or regulation. When we do, we'll revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. For questions, contact privacy@crooksec.io.
